Traditional glass painting & lead course (3 day)
Workshop date: June 27th, 28th & 29th
Start time: 10am
This workshop is suitable for beginners to intermediate aged 16+. It runs over 3 days for roughly 5 - 6 hours each day.
Each person will get to make an A4 sized leaded panel incorporating all of their painted glass pieces.
What you will learn:
Using tools and brushes effectively
Mixing the paint
Designing patterns
Cutting and preparing the glass
Tracing lines
Matt, shading layer & silver stain
Interesting painting effects
How to use the kiln and firing schedules
Leading, soldering and puttying a panel
What do I need to bring?
All tools and materials are included in the cost, so all you need to bring is enthusiasm and ideas. please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes.
I ask that you design your panel before the day of the workshop as time is always tight, I am more than happy to help and answer any questions about the designs prior to the workshop.
Hot and cold drinks are provided however please bring a packed lunch or food is available to buy from the onsite cafe (Canteen Cornwall)
Accommodation
If you do not live in Cornwall or would like to treat this course as a crafty get away, the studio is based near a beautiful campsite located on the north coast of Cornwall. There are pitches for a tent or hook ups for camper vans, handcrafted shepherds huts and eco pods.
