Taster session (3hrs)

£45.00

This is a beginners taster workshop

During the 3 hour workshop you will learn the basics of the stained glass copper foiling technique.

This technique has become popular for hobbyist and artisans as it allows more intricate and detailed designs, perfect for small panels, sun catchers and lampshades.

Pieces of glass are hand cut and ground into shape, each piece is then wrapped with copper foil tape, placed into its final design and soldered together, it is then given a good clean and finished off with patina and polished.

You will get make a sun catcher from one of the patterns provided. The patterns range from flowers, birds, leaves, feathers etc.

The day will start with a demonstration that shows you each step of the process and how to use the tools safely, you will have a test piece of glass you can practice on so you can get used to the tools, you will then make a start on your own with lots of help and advice along the way.

I like to keep tuition days as relaxed and fun as possible, it can be quite fiddly so please bare in mind you will need to be agile with your hands (again I will be there to help if you struggle) and we will be stood at the workbench for prolonged periods of time.

All materials and tools are provided and included in the cost so all you need to bring is ideas, some snacks and enthusiasm.

Session time is 10am-1pm

The studio is upstairs in a shared building so unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

Once you have purchased a space on the workshop you should receive a confirmation of payment email, if you require any further information please get in touch otherwise I shall look forward to meeting you on the day.

Non-refundable if cancellations are made less than 5 days prior to workshop date, unless I am able to re-sell your place on the workshop.
