Full day 'Design your own' stained glass workshop
This is a beginners to intermediate, copper foiling workshop.
Workshop times: 10am - 4pm(ish)
During the workshop you will learn the the stained glass copper foiling technique. This technique has become popular for hobbyist and artisans as it allows more intricate and detailed designs, perfect for small panels, sun catchers and lampshades.
Pieces of glass are hand cut and ground into shape, each piece is then wrapped with copper foil tape, placed into its final design and soldered together, it is then given a good clean and finished off with patina and polished.
You will get make a sun catcher or small panel (roughly A5 size) of your own design or I can help you design one on the day, I suggest designs are kept simple with around than 12 sections to the design to allow them to be finished on time, I will also have plenty of patterns to choose from.
The day will start with a demonstration that shows you each step of the process and how to use the tools safely, we will have a practice of cutting the glass and then you will make a start on your own panel with lots of help and advice along the way.
I like to keep tuition days as relaxed and fun as possible with the attendees taking the lead so you really get the most out of it, it can be quite fiddly so please bare in mind you will need to be agile with your hands (again I will be there to help if you struggle).
All materials and tools are provided and included in the cost so all you need to bring are some snacks/ lunch and enthusiasm.
Once you have purchased a space on the workshop you will receive a confirmation email with your workshop information. If you require any further information please get in touch otherwise I shall look forward to meeting you on the date.
Non-refundable if cancellations are made less than 5 days prior to workshop date (unless i am able to resell your place)
