6 week stained glass course
The Heart of Glass studio is passionate about creating an all inclusive, accessible and supportive community of makers and lovers of glass.
This course is suitable for beginners to intermediate, ages 16+ (unless accompanied by an adult)
The course will run over 6 weeks for 3 hours per day, every Friday and/ or Saturday morning (10am - 1pm)
You will get to experiment with the traditional leaded light technique, the copper foiling method and kiln fired painting. You will go home with four stained glass items that you have made. Two suncatchers in each technique, one kiln fired painted piece, and your final project which will be an A3 sized panel of your own design.
The total cost for the 6 week course is £325, please get in touch if you wish to pay in two seperate payments.
What will you learn?
Template and structural design, the copper foiling technique, traditional leaded light, how to use the tools safely and effectively, how to cut glass, soldering, glass painting and other techniques that may interest you such as engraving, encasing, and overlay.
Equipment available and included in price:
Large and small Infra red kiln, Engraving tool, hand tools (glass cutter, running pliers, grozing pliers, soldering iron, lead knife, oyster knife, goggles, dust mask, paint & brushes, apron), glass
Payments are non-refundable if cancellations are made less than 2 weeks prior to the course start date or during the 6 week course
